I spent a very fun New Years in Aruba this year with my perpetual travel buddy. We got there on Wednesday the 28th and returned Wednesday the 4th.
While we were there we stayed at this amazing little place recommended by a Couch Surfer named Mariza. She was an absolutely wonderful host! She recommended a day at Baby Beach and took us hiking in the national forest which ended with a trip to the natural pool. She loaned us snorkels to check out the cuddle fish and suggested walking out to the California lighthouse. We ate dinner together, met her friends and she showed us the best fireworks the country had to offer on two separate nights!
Overall the trip was very low key and relaxing. I even got the hang of wind surfing while I was there. Can't wait for the next great adventure!
